WIRED published an article highlighting the conversation between our CEO Atsushi Ishii and Professor Manabu Omae of Keio University, who is researching automated driving systems.

Expectations for the practical application of self-driving technology and autonomous vehicles have only increased, as everyone from artificial intelligence (AI) startups to major car-delivery services such as Uber and Lyft to major automakers have participated in the development of self-driving technology and autonomous vehicles. In reality, however, the road to practical application appears to be far from over, as Uber and Lyft have sold their self-driving technology divisions and Argo AI, a major company in which Ford and Volkswagen had invested, has been forced into liquidation.

What are the actual challenges to the practical application of autonomous vehicles? Atsushi Ishii, CEO of AI developer Couger, asked Manabu Omae, a professor at Keio University's Graduate School of Media and Governance, who researches automated driving systems, about where we are today.
