Couger Ranked in Japan's First Top 10 at EDCON, the Ethereum Developers' World Convention

Couger Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Atsushi Ishii, hereinafter referred to as "Couger") is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the TOP 10 teams at EDCON (*1), the Ethereum (*2) Developers' World Congress to be held in Toronto in May this year. Couger plans to conduct a technical presentation at "EDCON" regarding "Ludens," a technology that makes space smart through AI, IoT, AR/VR, and blockchain.

EDCON is an annual global convention for developers behind the Ethereum blockchain technology. Ethereum is the world's largest general-purpose blockchain platforms, conceived and announced by Vitalik Buterin in 2013.

The 2018 EDCON will be held May 3-5 in Toronto, Canada, the mecca of Ethereum.

As the main event of the competition, 10 teams that have survived two rounds of judging from entries from around the world will give presentations, and the most outstanding team will be selected. We are the first Japanese company to be selected as one of these 10 teams.

More than 60 top blockchain players, including Vitalik Burerin, the creator of Ethereum, will speak at this convention, where PoS/Casper, scalability, cryptography/security, privacy, latest trends, ongoing projects, community and more will be discussed. The number of projects this year is projected by Ethereum co-creator Steven Nerayoff to be about 10 times larger than in 2017, and the number of developers involved in Ethereum is exploding.

At this "Super Demo," Couger will present their vision for “LUDENS”, a smart space that is being researched and developed by Couger.

ICOs (fundraising using virtual currency) using the Ethereum platform account for more than 50% of the total blockchain (Ethereum, Bitcoin, Hyperleisure, etc.), and Grid+, a distributed trading platform, has raised a major amount of approximately 6.8 billion yen through ICO.

The Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA), which supports the spread of Ethereum, has more than 300 companies participating, including JP Morgan, Microsoft, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. The world is truly paying attention to Ethereum technology.

*2 EDCON (Community Ethereum Development Conference) is a global conference for developers supporting the Ethereum blockchain technology. It aims to share information and solve technical issues among the global Ethereum community, which is the future. It also features the full support of the Ethereum Foundation. This year the conference will be held at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.
